Our Youth & Education


  • The provision of a laptop/tablet to each primary school child in West Basseterre.
  • Continuation and expansion of the Annual Konris Maynard West Basseterre All-Round Student Scholarship awards to the primary schools in the Constituency.
  • Installation of Wi-Fi Hotspots throughout the Constituency.
  • ‘My Mentor’ Program - Develop a Constituency #3 apprenticeship program in which adults and professionals can help to guide our young people in their fields of interest.
  • Maintain and provide the necessary upgrades to primary and preschools in our communities.
  • Facilitate the development of a vibrant youth and creative Orange Economy through the resourcing and promotion of youth-centric industries such as the arts, design, cuisine, film, entertainment, media, sports and lifestyle.
  • Ensure that children with special needs and diverse abilities are given the educational and employment opportunities to live fulfilling and productive lives.
  • Strengthen school and community-based parental education to support parents in improving the learning environment in their homes.
  • Implement an After-School Homework Assistance Program in Collaboration with the Ministry of Education with Focus on Education and Character Building of School Children.
  • Support for the National Program to provide a grant of $25,000.00 (where scholarships are not available) to every student wishing to pursue undergraduate or graduate studies in a field immediately relevant to national development.
  • Support for the National Program to consolidate Student Loans with New Mortgages and New Car notes at low interest rates to ease the burden of students returning home after University.
